Many people in manifestation circles suffer from a neurotic obsession with feeling like they’re doing something “wrong” or don’t understand the correct way to create consciously. A smaller (but still substantial) portion of people worry about being able to manifest successfully but accidentally manifesting something other than what they initially intended to.
To deal with these concerns directly is usually fruitless. It’s hard to explain away somebody’s fears or to convince them to let go of doubt when doubt keeps arising.
Even more importantly, to deal with these concerns directly validates them as a problem to some degree. But they aren’t a problem in and of themselves; they’re a symptom of a deeper issue that won’t go away unless that deeper issue is resolved.
If you’ve faced consistent struggles throughout life (or even just for some recent period of time), it’s easy to start believing the world is, at worst, against you or, at best, totally indifferent to your desires. Sometimes, this is a conscious feeling or belief, and sometimes, it’s subconscious. But, in either case, many people develop some sense that anything good in life is difficult to come by.
Because many people arrive at manifestation in response to facing hardships and being unable to overcome those hardships by “conventional” means, they unwittingly approach their study of the subject with a “good things need to be worked for” mentality. Conscious creation becomes viewed as a magic spell that needs to be executed perfectly, or else it won’t work (or will work, but incorrectly and in a way that’s harmful). Or, people see manifestation like a Genie in the bottle: if they don’t construct their wish with clinical care, it’ll end up being used against them.
Remember, though, that manifestation is simply an explanation of how our internal world (our thoughts/feelings/beliefs) comes to be reflected outwardly in the “external.” This means that a belief in manifestation being difficult, unreliable, and/or finicky is part of a person’s internal state. And, because it’s part of an internal state (and manifestation is all about changing internal states to elicit external change), this belief can be let go of; it can be changed, just like any other belief can be changed.
Life would immediately start working in harmony with your desires if you’d only let it. The world doesn’t have to be against you. It doesn’t have to be indifferent to you, either. But, when you start from the place of feeling like the world is against or indifferent to your desires — and you never take the time to recognize that as a limiting belief — life will reflect that belief back to you. Conscious creation will seem finicky. It’ll seem inconsistent and prone to going awry.
Just because something seems a certain way, though, doesn’t mean it is that way. Or, at least, it doesn’t mean it has to be that way forever.
It’s essential that you trust your gut. If you want something, you’re probably meant to have it. And if you recognize that fact — that the world will be on your side if you only let it — then you can do away with all the fears and neurosis that make you worry about not getting what you desire. Every time a desire arises, you can be excited because you know it’s arising for a reason, and that reason is because you’re going to get to experience it.
I know this can feel difficult, especially when you’ve conditioned yourself to think the opposite. And you may be saying, “But my gut instinct tells me that everything is wrong and against me; should I trust that?” To that, I can only say, “Is it really your natural feeling you are telling you that, or is it a really conditioned limiting belief that you aren’t acknowledging?”
There’s no point getting into the semantics of what is or isn’t a “gut instinct.” That’s just language meant to serve a purpose.
What I’m really trying to say is that conscious creation is only as difficult as you tell yourself it is. If you take steps to go with the flow a little more and trust that things will fall your way, life will get a whole lot easier.
As always, good luck.
Funny that you should post this now. These past few days I’ve had content coming into my awareness of how abundance is unlimited and is not tied to time and space. I guess it’s an invitation to let go of needing progress to come in linear stages. Easier said than done though.
